About Us
My name is Lance Oberlin and I’m a U.S. Navy veteran and former IT leader. I started Clearjournals to provide small business owners something that’s often missing with their bookkeeping…clarity, consistency, and outstanding customer service.
Before launching Clearjournals, I served on active duty in the U.S. Navy and in the Navy Reserve for 16 years. The Navy taught me the value of discipline, accountability, and attention to detail.
After my military service, I spent more than a decade in IT leadership. I helped organizations solve complex problems and worked closely with corporate finance teams. That mix of experience (high-trust environments in the Navy and business) is exactly what I bring to bookkeeping.
Clearjournals is built for service-based small businesses. We focus on reconciling accounts, categorizing transactions, and preparing monthly reports (e.g., P&L, Balance Sheet). Our role is simple: keep your books accurate so you can focus on growing your business.
I’m a certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, and I use that expertise to make sure your financial records are organized, audit-ready, and easy to understand.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in business, an MBA, and a certificate in digital transformation. What matters most is using those skills to make bookkeeping simple and dependable for small business owners.
On a personal note, I’m also the proud father of an 18-year-old son who lives out of state. Like many small business owners, family is at the heart of why I work hard and build with long-term focus.
Clearjournals isn’t about overcomplicating the numbers or ignoring your questions. We are about straightforward bookkeeping and amazing customer service.
